Holidays reccommended for single Mums and Dads to take their children.

Hi

I am now a year into my separation and divorce is imminent.
I have been trying to find a decent holiday operator that specialises in single mums and dads going away with the children.

I would ideally like one that offers time with the children and relaxing time for parents in the evening. I am happy to go abroad or in this Country. There are skiing Holidays that are appealing but what about possible weekend breaks anytime of the year?
Looking on the net there has been nothing to really catch my eye.
Does anyone have any suggestions??

Many Thanks

Mum with two very energetic boys!!

Hello, I'm not really a

Hello, I'm not really a single parent holiday type so I can;t give oyu any pointers on that front - hopefully others can??  What I recommend is going on holiday, or way for the weekend either just the 3 of you, or joining up with friends and going away in a group so your children are entertained by others and go around in a gang and you get adult company.  I know Kate does that so she might have some tips on that front.  I tend to go away just the 3 of us, probably becuase i'm more of a nag than Kate so find that holiday time is great for us all getting out of the routine and me not havng to nag anyone to get up and ready for school, doing homework etc.. Our holidays just the 3 of us are some of my happiest most cherished memories and I'll continue doing them for as long as I can persuade them to come away with just me!  We rent a cottage or go camping and then go off on trips to the beach, local sights etc..  The bit that I don't get is the adult company int he evening and so this is where I admit to being extrmely sad - I go to bed at the same time as the children when we're on holiday.  It means I come back very rested!!!  I'm a bit risk adverse when it comes to who I go on holiday with as I'd rather go with friends and not worry that they're married, or that I should be with other single people - perhaps that's true if you're on a singles holiday in the true sense of the word, but surely not with energetic boys in tow?!  Happy happy holidays Emily
