Easter in the rain, how to have fun inside.

This morning I shall be banging on about making merry inside whilst the weather is so vile outside. Before I get you up to your elbows in cutting pasting and paper mache here are a couple of bigger thoughts for the weekend for you to mull on ……Weather you are with your children this holiday season or if they are away.
For some reason wet weather needs planning , probably because it makes most of us feel on the flat and mis side, but the consequence of this vibe spontaneous fun just happens less . We know this weekend is going to be a damp squib so you need to counteract that with a plan of campaign . Day 1 an outing, Day 2 friends or family over, Day 3 indoor capers (see below).

Here are a couple of ideas of things to do with your children that will help generate even more ideas of fun you can all have together in the future.

Sit down with the children and make a list of all the adventures you’d like to go on and the fun things you’d like to do.

Top tips for the summer holidays

We are pretty keen on family meetings . It may sound a bit touchy feely but buy a bag of pop corn and a bottle of pop , give everyone a chance to have a say set a time , stick a note on the fridge . Meeting , kitchen table to discuss summer holidays . This gives everyone a chance to have a say . At the appointed hour brainstorm with your children and come up with a realistic list of what you would all like to do . Make sure you include things for wet weather , things you can do at home and things that are free .
Our list looks like this …( Clearly I removed Disney world for a month and swimming with dolphins in a fair and democratic manner !!!)

• Excuses excuses! No one will care if you can’t dance just get up there and dance

We are great believers in getting out and about, doing new things and experiencing people and activities that you wouldn’t have ordinarily. Whether it is your turn to spend time without the children, or you are on your own with the children, the world is full of many cheap and cheerful things for you all to do so that you and the children can have happy memories of life. So go to the park, the beach, the river, take a picnic, play board games, cook together, learn new things together, sing, dance, play and laugh together. Be open to ideas and do it! It just needs you to get on out there and enjoy what is on offer.
