Thank you, thank you - what an excellent site which actually hits exactly on the issues that I (and I am guessing many others) are living through and bravely facing on a daily basis. I split from my XH 2 years ago and am now raising 2 delightful boys (4 and 6) myself. We have arranged for daddy to see them every other weekend which is working well and the drop offs and collections seem to go smoothly. The boys appear to be thriving - which I am mightly proud of. I am finding being a single mum much less painful than being in the awful relationship I was living with but.. there are tough times. Scrolling through the forum posts I can relate to so many of the issues - that feeling 'different' from all of my happily married friends, trying to be super woman - running the home, organising the kids, doing the washing, having friends to tea on top of a demanding job. I find it especially difficult with my extended family, my brother is married to my X's sister so you can imagine the double in-law situation and the family tea parties where my X and I are both invited....I am guessing you can picture the possible issues! I take my hat off to all single parents, we work extremely hard and do an amazing job! I am looking forward to working through some of your ideas for settling more into my new life. K x
